About this model

I got a hedge trimmer and battery at a thrift store for $15. No charger. A charger and spare battery cost about $70 (used). These adapters allow me to use a Dewalt or Harbor Freight's Hercules battery. I made this in two halves so I will be able to adapt other brand of tools. For hardware I used 16GA wire, M4 x 25 button head screw, M4 x 16 countersunk screw, four M4 x 8 button head screw, two M4 nuts, and 1MM x 6MM brass strip from Amazon. The two longer screws are actually too long, and I had to sand off about 2MM of length.

Assembly is fairly simple since both sides use male connectors. The brass fits tightly in the slots. Solder wire at the end of the brass and insert back in the slots. Wrap wire inside the channel to get the wire length to cut. Remove and solder wire to the other brass contacts as pictured. Insert brass back into slots and slide adapter fully onto tool or battery push brass in until it is seated. The ends of the brass should slightly inset in the back cavity. Hot glue around the brass up to the surface. Add cover plate with the four screws.

For the PLA I used generic black, green and blue and Deeplee…
