The floating bottle effect
What makes these pieces work is counterbalance. The bottle sits at an angle with its weight carried back over the base, so it appears to float clear of the surface rather than rest on it. It looks like a trick and is really just geometry, which is why the bottle needs to sit in the holder as designed rather than at whatever angle feels right.
Every holder is tested with a real wine bottle before it is packed, so the balance you see in the photographs is the balance you get.
All three take standard wine bottles. The dragon is also designed around spirit bottles, so it works on a home bar as well as a kitchen worktop.
Which one to pick
- The goose is our best seller and the one most people buy as a gift. Smooth and sculptural rather than detailed, it suits a kitchen counter or open shelving.
- The dragon is the statement piece: 25cm tall, scale textured, and around twenty hours on the printer for one piece. It is the one for a home bar, a gaming room or anywhere it will be looked at.
- The dog is the most relaxed of the three and the cheapest at £10, and it is the one customers most often put outside on a patio or in an entertaining space.
Empty or full
Worth saying: these are good-looking objects with the bottle out. A lot of customers keep them on display permanently and rotate the bottle. If it is a gift, pairing it with a bottle the recipient actually drinks makes it land considerably better than the holder alone.
