About this model
<p>This adds an extra shelf in the middle to an IKEA STARKVIND (table with air filter).</p><h4>Shelf panel</h4><p>You’ll need a round tabletop with a diameter of about 44 cm to serve as the shelf.</p><p>Of course, you could also cut the tabletop out of wood yourself.</p><p>However, I decided to use the tabletop from the IKEA GLADOM tray table. It’s made of sheet metal, with a rim about 2 cm high and a diameter of about 44 cm. <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" class="editor-link" href="https://www.ikea.com/de/en/p/gladom-tray-table-white-70337819/">https://www.ikea.com/de/en/p/gladom-tray-table-white-70337819/</a></p><p>The table frame goes unused, which isn’t ideal. But the whole tray table only cost me 10 €.</p><p>If you know of better alternatives to the tray table, please leave a comment. That would certainly be helpful for others who are thinking about building this themselves.</p><h4>Mounting</h4><p>The brackets are suitable for fastening with countersunk wood screws.</p><p>I have prepared two versions of the brackets for installation.</p><ol><li><p>For countersunk screws with a head diameter of up to 7 mm and a thread diameter of up to 3.5 mm.</p></li><li><p>For countersunk screws with a head diameter of up to 8 mm and a thread diameter of up to 4 mm.</p></li></ol><p>The total length of the screws should be between 16 mm and a maximum of 30 mm.
