About this model

I made this as a small stand for a landscape Nixie clock. I wanted something that looked more like a piece of late-60s/early-70s plastic furniture than a plain rectangular bracket, so the shape is loosely inspired by the Massonnet Tam-Tam stool: rounded top, rounded foot, and a pinched hourglass waist.

The default version has a shallow locating recess for the clock and a snap-in channel down the back for the power cable. The stand prints upright on its flat base.

The Blender script is parametric, so the same design can be resized for other small rectangular objects. Change the object width/depth/height, recess clearance, top size, base size, waist dimensions, and cable-channel dimensions to make a stand for a different clock, meter, sign, badge, or small electronics enclosure.

Files included:

- STL and 3MF ready to print

- Blender scene

- Parametric Blender Python script

Print notes:

- Tested in PrusaSlicer for an Ender-3 S1

- PLA

- 0.4 mm nozzle

- 0.24 mm layer height

- 5% infill

- No supports

If you make the waist much narrower or change the cable channel, check the slicer preview before printing. For the top recess, I would start with about 0.3 to 0.6 mm clearance per side, depending on your printer and how snug you want the fit.

I bought the clock from Bad Dog Designs: <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" class="editor-link"…
