About this model
<p>Nearly half of all our shade toggles broke within two months after purchasing our new Airstream Bambi. As much as we love our Bambi, many of the parts are subpar including the shade toggles. (The Caravel with the same floor plan comes with better quality parts -- thus the higher price tag.) So I created a beefier version.</p><p>One of my screw covers also broke when I was fiddling with it, so I created a beefier version of that too.</p><p>For completeness I include a STL for the "bell" but you are unlikely to need that.</p><p>White PLA worked well for me</p><ul><li><p>Print the toggle on its side at something like 85% fill</p></li><li><p>For the best looking finish, print the screw cover vertically as shown in the photo.</p><ul><li><p>You will need support.</p></li><li><p>Use the smallest possible layer height that your printer supports. The front (last few layers to be printed) is slightly rounded so the layers become quite visible. I printed mine with lauyer height of 0.1. It's ok but not great.</p></li></ul></li></ul><p>I actually printed my parts monogrammed with an "H". The STL files that are included are plain: no embossed letter. But I've include the Fusion 360 files so you have full control. If you want a personalized version, edit using Fusion 360, unsuppress the monogram step, and modify the sketch with any letter you choose.</p><p>Mostly I reused the cord that came with original part.
