About this model

These crayon tips are design to fit TIGHTLY into a 2 inch Schedule 40 PVC Pipe. No glue required for easy removal in the future. For a more permanent solution, it is recommended to glue using any sort of PVC glue, Bondo the seams and sanding for a clean finish.

To make them to scale, cut the PVC pipes to 21" long. Once the tip and base are added onto the PVC pipe, they will be roughly 7.6x scale to a real crayon.

When cutting PVC pipe to length, it is recommended that you use an electric miter saw to achieve a CLEAN 90 degree cut if you intend on using the "no glue and bondo" method. Otherwise your ends will not sit flush to the end of the PVC pipe, which will result in a gap.

The wrapper print attached was printed on a 30x42" Large Format printer. If a large format printer is not easily accessible for you, it is recommended to print them out individually on an 8x11 printer and piece them together. Each sleeve is roughly 8"x20", so you will be able to fit each crayon sleeve on 2 - 8x11 prints.

IMPORTANT PRINTING TIPS:

SEE PHOTO for example: It is recommended in Bambu Lab to add a horizontal 'CUT' at the PVC pipe insert to seperate it from the crayon tip itself to avoid the need for any 'Supports' along with adding additional strength to the joint. Add a threaded connector so you can thread them together after print.

Also add a 'modifier' on the threaded connector, once 'cut' is complete and change infill…
